PANIC! AT THE DISCO
You can't really blame Panic! At The Disco for needing an extension to finish their third album. After all, half of the band left this past summer. "Our band went through a transition which was definitely the right thing for everybody involved," says drummer Spencer Smith. "But we're definitely back on track now." Smith and frontman Brendon Urie have been focusing their efforts on the album for the past several months, only playing a few sporadic shows so the record can be released by summer. "There are a bunch of songs that are more or less done and others that are still at a rough stage with lots of potential," says Smith. "It's still going to be very 'Panic.' There are elements of everything our fans love worked into what we're writing, but it's another step in the evolution of our band."

I spent 6 months of my life, writing and producing on WWE Raw, in what I call the “dark period” of my 20’s. Usually people want me to talk about this surreal job, about my experiences and why it was so hellish creatively, but it’s just too much to get into really, and I just want to pretend it never happened. BUT, I found a healthy way to explain all of that in just over 2 minutes. Here’s what you do: watch the video above, then realize I was a writer on this bit (so, there’s an answer for you, Stryker), and a producer on what would be this final product shown LIVE on TV. Then think about how it was probably originally pitched, written and set up, until about 3 seconds before we went live - and then this idea became the “best one.” Gun in mouth. But in better news, I did write the joke a week later, where she comes back to Vince complaining about a new sickness, “Labia-gytis.” So, 2 guns in mouth.

footnote - This is the first time I’ve seen this since it was actually filmed in front of me, and now I actually am sort of depressed about even writing I had something to do with this. Not just Tumblr sarcasm.

a story for a holiday

when i was a little human being i went to central school. when i was around 8 or 9 there was a black squirrel outside of the window of mrs. hansons class. who i incidentally once called “mom” by accident and did not live that down the entire year. i thought it was so weird that their was this one black squirrel when all the rest of them in our neighborhood were brown.

the university of northwestern wanted its campus to appear more dignified so they imported black squirrels at some point far earlier in this narrative to appear more like oxford.

i thought he was magical as you could only catch glimpses of him now and again. then one day he disappeared.

turns out when they imported the black squirrels the brown squirrels hated them. they killed them all.

this story doesn't have a point or a beginning or an end. im not sure its entirely true. but thats why its a story.
